If you’re new to Talentcor as a job seeker, you may have some questions. You know that partnering with a recruiter can help you kickstart your career in an exciting industry with plenty of guidance along the way, but what happens between point A and point B?

We’re here to give to you the answers to five of the most frequently asked questions about recruitment services—and how Talentcor can help you succeed in your career.


1. What Is Expected of Me?

As a job seeker, you may have some preconceived notions about what is expected of you when working with a recruitment firm. You may think a recruitment firm only accept entry-level candidates, for example.

In reality, Talentcor works with candidates of all skill levels, in many different industries and at different pay grades. Candidates’ backgrounds are diverse. You may not be required to have several years’ of experience or a university degree.

What is required of you, however, is that you are punctual, reliable, honest, and possess the skills to get the job done right. Talentcor is also dedicated to providing our clients with candidates who are committed to workplace safety and are responsible enough to carry out their duties with minimal supervision.

At the end of the day, if a job offer doesn’t seem right for you, you always have the choice to accept or decline a position we offer you. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we will always work to ensure you’re placed in a role you will excel in.


2. Will I Have to Pay? 

One of the biggest misconceptions that job seekers have about recruitment firms is they have to pay a portion of their salaries in order to participate in their services.

With Talentcor, our services are completely free to jobseekers. Employers that utilize our services to find dedicated, talented employees are paying the bill, so aside from normal government deductions, every dollar of your salary belongs to you.


3. How Will I Be Paid?

Talentcor uses direct deposit, so getting paid is convenient, free, and secure. You will be paid an hourly rate plus vacation pay, and your pay rate is always checked against the market to ensure fair compensation for your role.

Payments will be deposited into your account by Friday following the week you worked, regardless if you’re working temporary or contract work. Clients pay permanent employees directly.


4. Will I Receive a T4 Slip?

Yes! With tax season around the corner, many employees’ thoughts turn to their T4 slips and whether or not their employers have remembered to fill them out on time.

Talentcor issues T4 slips by February 28th. They are sent by email and are available online. No more hounding your employer to get your information on time—everything will be sent to you directly, quickly, and easily.


5. How Do Time-Off Requests Work?

Talentcor will handle all of your time-off requests by coordinating with your client supervisor. You should also contact us if you’re lost, late, or unable to make it to your regularly scheduled shift.

Just contact your Talentcor branch via phone, and leave us a message with your name, number, and where you work—making sure to tell us the reason you’re calling in.
